BX5A-4116021
Enhance low-visibility vision: Shines a low, wide beam that cuts through fog, rain, or dust—lights up the left side of the road (10–20 meters ahead) so you can see curbs, potholes, or small obstacles regular headlights miss.
Reduce glare: Unlike regular headlights (which shine high and reflect off fog), the foglamp’s low position minimizes glare—so you don’t get blinded by your own light in bad weather.
Improve visibility to others: The bright beam makes your SX5 more visible to oncoming cars, cyclists, and pedestrians from the side—especially in fog where regular lights are hard to spot.
Fits These: All Dongfeng FMC SX5 variants (matches bumper fog lamp opening, electrical system, and beam specs—confirm with VIN).
Won’t Fit These:
Other Dongfeng models: Like H30, AX3, or Dignity ix5—different bumper sizes, fog lamp positions, or wiring setups (foglamp can’t attach or work with the car’s system).
Non-Dongfeng vehicles: Even if the shape looks similar, their electrical systems and mounting points differ (no functional use—light won’t work or falls out).
SX5 with modified front bumpers: Aftermarket bumpers may not have the fog lamp opening or use different mounting hardware—original foglamp won’t fit (leaves gaps or blocks airflow).
SX5’s right front side: Left and right foglamps are mirror images—this part is for the left side only (right side needs a different part number).
Prep: Turn off the SX5’s engine and disconnect the battery (avoids electric shocks). Locate the left front foglamp on the bumper—some models have a small access panel inside the bumper; others let you reach it from below.
Remove old foglamp: Unplug the wiring connector from the back of the foglamp (press the tab to release it). Remove the 2–3 clips or bolts holding the foglamp to the bumper (use a flathead screwdriver for clips or socket wrench for bolts). Gently pull the old foglamp out of the bumper opening.
Install new foglamp: Slide BX5A-4116021 into the bumper opening, align the mounting holes/clips, and secure it with the original bolts or clips (don’t over-tighten—you might crack the housing). Plug the wiring connector back in until it clicks.
Test: Reconnect the battery, turn on the fog light switch (usually next to the headlight switch)—check that the foglamp shines bright and the beam is low (no glare upward). If the light doesn’t turn on, double-check the wiring connection.
Clean the lens weekly: Wipe the lens with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt, road salt, or bug guts—dirty lenses dim the light (harder to see in fog).
Check the bulb monthly: Turn on the foglamps to look for dim, flickering, or dead bulbs. Replace bad bulbs fast (a non-working foglamp is unsafe in bad weather and may be illegal in some areas).
Inspect for water inside: If the lens fogs up from the inside, the seal is broken (water is getting in)—replace the foglamp (water ruins the bulb and wiring).
Tighten mounting hardware yearly: Make sure clips/bolts are tight—loose hardware causes the foglamp to rattle or shift (beam points wrong, reducing visibility).
Fits: All Dongfeng FMC SX5 variants (matches bumper fog lamp opening, electrical system, and beam specs; confirm via VIN).
Won’t Fit: Other Dongfeng models (e.g., H30, AX3), non-Dongfeng vehicles, SX5 with modified front bumpers, or SX5’s right front side (left/right are mirror images).
Low-visibility illumination: Shines a low, wide beam (10–20 meters ahead) to reveal curbs, potholes, or obstacles hidden by fog/rain.
Glare reduction: Low positioning minimizes light reflection off fog droplets—avoids blinding the driver.
Increased conspicuity: Bright beam makes the SX5 more visible to oncoming traffic, cyclists, and pedestrians from the side in poor conditions.
Prep: Turn off the engine, disconnect the battery, and locate the foglamp (access via bumper panel or from below).
Remove old unit: Unplug the wiring connector, remove 2–3 mounting clips/bolts, and pull out the old foglamp.
Install new unit: Slide BX5A-4116021 into the bumper opening, secure with clips/bolts (avoid over-tightening), and reconnect wiring.
Test: Reconnect the battery, turn on the fog light switch, and verify bright, low-beam output (no upward glare).
