Illumine the road safely: Low beam lights up the area 30–50 meters ahead on the right side (avoids blinding oncoming traffic), while high beam boosts long-distance visibility—both beams are shaped to cover the road evenly, no dark spots on the right.
Keep you visible to others: Even in bad weather (rain, fog), the bright light makes your SX5 stand out to oncoming cars, cyclists, and pedestrians. If DRL is integrated, it stays on during the day to boost visibility further.
Resist harsh conditions: The sealed lens and housing keep rain, snow, dust, and road salt out—no water seeps inside to fog the lens or short out the bulbs, so it works reliably in storms
Fits These: All Dongfeng FMC SX5 variants (matches bumper shape, electrical system, and beam specs—confirm with VIN).
Won’t Fit These:
Other Dongfeng models: Like H30, AX3, or Dignity ix5—different bumper sizes, bulb types, or wiring setups (headlamp can’t attach or work properly).
Non-Dongfeng vehicles: Even if similar in shape, their electrical systems and mounting points differ (no functional fit; may damage the SX5’s wiring).
SX5 with modified front ends: Aftermarket bumpers or grille kits change the headlamp opening size—original headlamp won’t fit (leaves gaps or blocks light).
Left front side of SX5: Left and right headlamps are mirror images—this part is for the right side only (left side needs a different part number).
Prep: Turn off the SX5’s engine and disconnect the battery (avoids electric shocks). Open the hood and locate the back of the right front headlamp (behind the front bumper).
Remove old headlamp: Unplug the wiring plug from the back of the headlamp (it clicks when released). Remove the 3–4 bolts holding the headlamp’s brackets to the bumper (use a socket wrench or screwdriver). Gently pull the old headlamp forward to remove it.
Install new headlamp: Slide SX5-4121020 into the bumper opening, align the brackets with the bolt holes, and tighten the bolts (don’t over-tighten—you might crack the brackets). Plug the wiring back in until it clicks.
Test: Reconnect the battery, turn on low/high beams and DRL (if equipped)—check that the light is bright, the beam is aligned (no glare), and all functions work as they should.
Clean the lens weekly: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt, bug guts, or road salt—dirty lenses can dim light by 30% or more (harder to see the right side of the road at night).
Check bulbs every 6 months: Turn on low/high beams—look for dim, flickering, or dead bulbs. Replace bad bulbs fast (a non-working headlamp is illegal and unsafe).
Inspect for internal fogging: If the lens fogs up from the inside, the seal is broken (water is getting in)—replace the headlamp (water ruins bulbs and the reflective housing).
Tighten bolts yearly: Make sure the mounting bolts are tight—loose
