Hold the radiator firmly in place: The radiator is filled with coolant and weighs several kilograms—this bracket locks it to the chassis, so it doesn’t bounce or shift when driving over rough roads. Even at high speeds or over potholes, the radiator stays stable (no loose connections that cause coolant leaks).
Keep the radiator aligned with cooling parts: For the cooling system to work, the radiator must line up perfectly with the cooling fan (to pull air through the radiator) and water hoses (to circulate coolant). The bracket’s precision alignment guides ensure this—misalignment would block airflow or kink hoses, leading to engine overheating.
Shield the radiator from minor impacts: If you hit a small debris (like a rock) or bump a curb gently, the bracket absorbs some of the force—preventing the radiator from bending or cracking. It also keeps other engine parts (like the alternator) from rubbing against the radiator.
Fits These: All Dongfeng Lamari (T5) variants (matches the radiator size, chassis mounting points, and cooling system layout—confirm with VIN).
Won’t Fit These:
Other Dongfeng models: Like Dongfeng AX7, Yixuan, or Forthing T5 EVO—different radiator dimensions, chassis designs, and mounting hole positions (can’t hold the radiator).
Non-Dongfeng vehicles: Even if similar in look, their radiator sizes and chassis specs differ (no functional fit; may damage the radiator or chassis).
Lamari (T5) with modified cooling systems: Aftermarket larger radiators or fan kits change the radiator’s size/weight—original bracket can’t support it (bends or breaks).
Prep: Techs drain the Lamari (T5)’s coolant (to avoid spills), disconnect the cooling fan and water hoses from the radiator, then unbolt the old bracket from the chassis.
Remove old bracket: They lift the radiator slightly, slide out the old bracket, then clean the chassis mounting area (wipe off dirt or rust).
Install new bracket: They place SX5F-8400110B on the chassis, align its holes with the chassis bolts, tighten the bolts to Dongfeng’s exact torque specs (too tight bends the bracket; too loose lets the radiator shift), then lower the radiator onto the bracket and secure it.
Test: They reconnect the fan, hoses, and refill with Dongfeng-approved coolant, start the engine, and check for leaks (around the bracket and hoses) and normal temperature (no overheating).
Inspect every 60,000km: During routine service, ask techs to check the bracket—look for bending, rust (if steel), or cracked plastic (if plastic). Replace it immediately if damaged (weak brackets risk radiator damage).
Tighten bolts annually: Over time, vibrations can loosen the bracket’s bolts—have techs check and retighten them (prevents the radiator from shifting).
Check after front impacts: Even minor front bumps (like hitting a parking curb) can bend the bracket—have it inspected to avoid hidden damage (leads to overheating later).
Clean regularly: Wipe the bracket with a damp cloth during engine bay cleaning—remove dirt or oil that can speed up rust (for steel brackets) or plastic degradation.
