SX5A-2803610
Lower coolant temperature: Hot coolant from the engine is cooled down by the radiator before cycling back—preventing the engine from exceeding its safe temperature range (avoids overheating damage).
Maintain engine performance: A cool engine runs more efficiently—no power loss from overheating, better fuel economy, and longer engine life. The radiator ensures the engine stays in its “sweet spot” for performance.
Fits These: All Dongfeng FMC SX5 variants (matches engine heat output, hose ports, and mounting points—confirm with VIN).
Won’t Fit These:
Other Dongfeng models: Like H30, AX3, or Dignity ix5—different engine sizes, coolant flow rates, or mounting positions (radiator can’t cool effectively or fit).
Non-Dongfeng vehicles: Even if similar in size, their hose ports and cooling needs differ (no functional fit; causes leaks).
SX5 with modified engines: Aftermarket engine upgrades (e.g., turbochargers) need higher-capacity radiators—original one can’t handle extra heat (overheats).
Prep: Turn off the SX5’s engine and let it cool (hot coolant is dangerous). Disconnect the battery, then place a pan under the radiator to catch draining coolant.
Remove old radiator: Open the radiator drain plug to drain coolant. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the inlet/outlet ports (use pliers to loosen clamps). Remove the bolts holding the radiator to the engine bay frame and pull the old radiator out.
Install new radiator: Position SX5A-2803610 in the engine bay, tighten mounting bolts, and reconnect coolant hoses (replace clamps if old). Refill the radiator with SX5-recommended coolant (mix with water if needed, per owner’s manual).
Test: Bleed air from the coolant system (to avoid air bubbles that block flow), reconnect the battery, and start the engine. Check for leaks around hoses/ports and verify the engine stays at 80–90°C (use the temperature gauge).
Check coolant level monthly: Open the radiator cap (when cool) and ensure coolant reaches the “MAX” line—add more if low (use the right coolant type).
Inspect for leaks quarterly: Look for green/blue coolant spots under the SX5 or wetness around hoses/ports (tighten clamps or replace hoses if leaking).
Clean fins yearly: Use a soft brush to remove bugs, leaves, or dirt from the cooling fins (clogged fins reduce cooling efficiency—engine may overheat in traffic).
Replace coolant per schedule: Old coolant loses its anti-corrosion properties—follow Dongfeng’s advice (usually every 2–3 years or 40,000–60,000 km).
