Secure the rear wheel: It acts as a stable base for the rear wheel—keeps it aligned with the axle (no wobbling or misalignment that wears out tires fast).
Let the wheel spin smoothly: The built-in sealed bearings reduce friction between the hub and axle—so the wheel rotates freely, even when the car is moving at high speeds (no squealing or grinding).
Transfer power to the wheel: For front-wheel-drive H30 models, it supports the rear wheel’s rotation (lets it follow the front wheels); for any variant, it bears the rear weight, ensuring stable handling on bumpy roads.
Fits These: All Dongfeng H30 variants (matches axle bolt pattern, bearing size, and load capacity—confirm with VIN).
Won’t Fit These:
Other Dongfeng models: Like S30, AX3, or Dignity ix5—different axle designs, bolt patterns, or load needs (hub can’t attach or support weight).
Non-Dongfeng vehicles: Even if similar in size, their axle specs and bolt holes differ (no functional fit; causes wheel misalignment).
H30 with modified rear axles: Aftermarket axle upgrades change bolt patterns or load capacity—original hub can’t match (wobbles or breaks).
Prep: Jack up the H30 (use jack stands) and remove the rear wheel. Disconnect the rear brake caliper (if needed) to access the hub.
Remove old hub: Remove the bolts that secure the hub to the rear axle. Gently pull the old hub off the axle (may need a puller tool if it’s stuck).
Install new hub: Clean the axle surface, then slide E240310J-B0100 onto the axle. Tighten the hub bolts to Dongfeng’s recommended torque (too loose = wobble; too tight = damage). Reattach the brake caliper.
Test & align: Put the rear wheel back on, lower the car, and test drive—check for wobbling or noises. Have a pro do a wheel alignment to ensure the rear wheel is straight (prevents tire wear).
Listen for noises: A grinding, humming, or squealing sound from the rear wheel means the hub’s bearings are wearing out (replace the hub fast).
Check for wheel play: Jack up the rear wheel and wiggle it side to side—if there’s more than 1mm of play, the hub is loose (tighten bolts or replace the hub).
Inspect for rust: Every 6 months, check the hub for rust (especially around the bearings)—rust means seals are broken (water is getting in, ruining bearings).
Rotate tires regularly: Even tire wear reduces stress on the rear hub (follow Dongfeng’s tire rotation schedule—usually every 5,000 km).
