Absorb lateral crash force: The inflated airbag acts as a soft barrier between your body and the car’s hard left-side components (door, pillar, window)—slowing your sideways movement gradually and reducing impact force by up to 60%.
Protect vulnerable body parts: For seat-mounted airbags, it shields your torso (ribs, chest) from door impacts; for curtain airbags, it guards your head from hitting the pillar or window (prevents concussions or skull injuries).
Fits These: All Brilliance H330 variants (matches the specific left-side mounting location—seatback or pillar—and airbag control unit specs; confirm with VIN).
Won’t Fit These:
Other Brilliance models: Like H230, V5, or H530—different interior dimensions, crash sensor protocols, or airbag sizes (won’t deploy correctly or protect properly).
Non-Brilliance vehicles: Even if the shape looks similar, their side impact detection systems and mounting points differ (no functional safety protection).
H330 with modified seats/pillars: Aftermarket racing seats or custom pillars often lack airbag mounting space—original airbag can’t be installed (loses critical side protection).
Prep: Disconnect the H330’s battery and wait 15–20 minutes (drains residual power to avoid accidental inflation). Remove the left front seat (for seat-mounted airbags) or pillar trim/headliner (for curtain airbags) using special tools (avoids damaging the interior).
Remove old airbag: Unplug the wiring harness from the airbag (press the safety lock to release it). Remove the mounting clips/bolts holding the old airbag to the seatback or pillar—lift it out carefully (don’t squeeze or drop it).
Install new airbag: Align 3491043 with the mounting points, secure it with clips/bolts (tighten to Brilliance’s exact torque specs). Reconnect the wiring harness (it fits only one way to prevent mistakes).
Test & Reassemble: Reattach the seat or pillar trim/headliner. Reconnect the battery and use a Brilliance diagnostic tool to reset the airbag control unit (clears error codes). Check that the dashboard airbag light turns off (stays off = proper installation).
Never tamper with it: Don’t cut into seatbacks, remove pillar trim, or modify the airbag’s wiring (risk of accidental inflation or damage).
Check the airbag light: If the H330’s dashboard airbag light stays on after startup, the system has a fault (e.g., loose wiring, sensor issue)—take it to a Brilliance shop immediately (airbag may not trigger in a crash).
Avoid seat/pillar damage: Don’t puncture the left front seatback or hit the left roof pillar hard (can damage the airbag’s housing or inflator).
Replace after deployment: Once the airbag inflates in a crash, it’s one-time use—replace it with a new original unit (never reuse a deployed airbag).
