Cushion during head-on collisions: When the FX hits a solid object (like another car or a wall) with enough force, the vehicle’s crash sensors send a signal to the airbag’s gas generator. The generator quickly produces harmless nitrogen gas, inflating the nylon bag in under 0.1 seconds—creating a soft buffer between the passenger’s upper body and the hard dashboard/ windshield. This reduces the risk of broken bones, concussions, or internal injuries.

Complement seatbelts (don’t replace them!): The airbag works with the front passenger’s seatbelt to maximize protection. The seatbelt keeps the passenger from sliding forward too far, while the airbag absorbs the remaining impact force. Without a seatbelt, the passenger might hit the airbag too hard (causing injury) or miss the airbag entirely.

Avoid over-inflation or late deployment: The FX’s safety system is programmed to trigger the airbag only when collisions are severe enough to need it (e.g., not during minor fender benders). The gas generator also stops inflating once the bag reaches the right size—preventing the bag from becoming too rigid and hurting the passenger.

Fits These: All Chery FX variants (matches dashboard size, passenger seating position, and safety system wiring—confirm with VIN).

Won’t Fit These:

Other Chery models: Like Tiggo7 Pro, Arrizo 5, or QQ—different dashboard designs, passenger space, or safety sensor systems (airbag can’t fit or trigger correctly).

Non-Chery vehicles: Even if the airbag looks similar, their gas generator specs and wiring protocols differ (no functional fit; may fail to deploy or deploy incorrectly).

FX with modified dashboards: Aftermarket custom dashboards or instrument panel upgrades change the airbag’s mounting space—original airbag can’t fit (either gets stuck or deploys into the wrong area).

Never ignore the airbag warning light: If the FX’s dashboard shows an airbag warning light (usually a “passenger airbag off” or “SRS fault” light), have it checked immediately—this means the airbag might not deploy during a crash.

Don’t modify the passenger dashboard: Never install aftermarket phone mounts, stickers, or accessories on the passenger-side dashboard (over the airbag area)—these can block deployment or send objects flying when the airbag inflates.

Keep heavy items off the passenger seat: If you put a heavy bag or box on the front passenger seat, the FX’s weight sensor (if equipped) might think it’s a passenger—causing the airbag to deploy unnecessarily (wasting the airbag) or not deploy when a real passenger is there.
